Oak Tree

I am a person whose curiosity is irresistible especially in theatre. If something interests me, I will dive completely into that mysterious sea, not knowing where the shore is and not knowing if I can swim well enough. I really like to find a small shell or a piece of amber in that sea, to examine them very carefully with great childish curiosity, devoting time to details, to some it would seem that I have almost managed to count atoms. And besides diving and exploring mysterious seas, I really like climbing. Climbing and theater are essentially very similar and very different at the same time for me. Climbing, like theater, allows me to look for creative solutions and forces me to think here and now. As a person, I am sociable, as soon as I feel safe among people, I become an open book – I don’t hide anything and I like to be completely open.

The soil / the need

At that moment I was looking for a big, deep sea with bright blue water and a lot of small islands that was question mark shape. At that time for me theatre felt like a safe place for exploring and to have questions.

Tell us about that first spark

With my class we visited the performance THE WONDERFUL AND HORRIBLE STORY OF ROMEO AND JULIET (dir. O. Koršunovas). It is really difficult to describe in words what exactly I felt there and what exactly happened to me that day, but I left with such strong and new emotions and with that overflowing childish curiosity, which only grew and grew and grew over time. From that day on, I started looking for every possible opportunity to visit performances. I simply fell in love with theatre from the first sight :DD.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

Definitely people. Because connections really helped me to explore theatre from so many different perspectives.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

The way my eyes still shine in theatre just like that first day when I fell in love with theatre for the first time, really keeps me going. I think love to the theatre community and to experiences that I have in theatre keeps me going 🙂

Branches (future / desire)

It is a really sensitive topic for me. From the day I fell in love with theatre I had a dream of becoming an actress and I have tried some theatre lessons but I am still not sure if I am suitable for this profession and if I have the data needed to become an actress. Buuut I also have discovered that I love writing about theatre so maybe I could be like a theatre critic and write about the performances I get to see. So many things interest me in theatre but I am still not sure what I am really capable of.

Yes, regularly

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

An oak because it’s trunk is strong and it looks like a tree that has so much history. The fact that it looks very strong and stable but in reality we don’t know how many times the branches have been cut off, how many times it has been struck by a lightning and how much storms have it survived because it kept on growing.
