🇩🇪 NATIONAL TAG ACTIVITY – Shared Vision: Karlsson vom Dach (Karlsson on the Roof)- Theater Grüne Sosse
Germany
Solo for an audience in its prime
In a very ordinary town, on a very ordinary street, stands a very ordinary house with a very ordinary theater. In this very ordinary theater sits a very ordinary audience. “I am not an ordinary audience at all,” says the audience. That’s right. Nothing in this theater is actually ordinary. Especially not this handsome and fundamentally clever man in his prime, who appears and disappears at will, lies, brags, and shows off so much that the stage boards bend: “My name is Karlsson. Just Karlsson and nothing else.”
Karlsson floats in through the window and causes tremendous irritation: he is radical, rebellious, narcissistic, and chaotic—and captivatingly charming. He allies himself with the audience and goes on a collision course with all the authorities that determine childhood: parents, teachers, older siblings, theater technicians, adults in general.
TheaterGrueneSosse presents Astrid Lindgren’s classic as a playful solo performance. Using the magical tools of theater, the audience and performer Arthur Romanowski bring to life the rebellious imagination of Karlsson, who literally makes the world dance.
With our very own TEEN Lars on stage! =)
