Apple Tree

My name is Katka. I love theatre and all things crafty. Honestly, I´m starting to feel like a grandma. I love reading books, and the one I will recommend till I die is Five Survive by Holly Jackson. My mission in life is to make people aware of how Romeo and Juliet is totally amazing and funny, not cringe. I´m fascinated by Greek mythology and would love to visit Greece someday. I´m always up to try something new, even tho I´m a bit of a scared by cats. If you asked me what I want to be when I grow up (even though I´m considered pretty grown up now), I would tell you: HAPPY 🙂

The soil / the need

I wanted the feeling of total freedom. I wanted to try being someone else, bad, good, extroverted, introverted, to live someone else’s life… I loved that all the eyes were on me, but they weren´t watching me per say.

Tell us about that first spark

I was in the theatre watching an inscenation when suddenly I felt I wanted to be the one delivering the lines on stage. Somewhere inside, I knew the freedom it would give me and the joy it would bring me. On our way back, I looked up what was mandatory for the entrance exams for the conservatory, and I joined the drama club.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

My drama club friends were very important to me. Now it is my current drama teacher, who is on this journey with me, and of course, my classmates. We compete, motivate each other, but most importantly, we have fun together.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

Theatre is extremely diverse. It can always surprise me. It keeps room for improvement, which means I can always become better and better. It has no rules. Just be yourself and feel.

Branches (future / desire)

I want to be theatre. I want to experiment. Try everything. See what I like and what is not for me. I want to make others like theatre, be inclusive. Share. I want to be good at what I like. I want to bring something new to the theatre.

Yes, regularly

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

If I were to become a tree, I would probably be an apple tree. For me, the apple tree is intertwined with stories. Its fruits look gentle, but inside are juicy, just like me.
