Baobab

My name is Anastasia, I am 19 years old, I am from Ukraine, I was born in the most comfortable city in the world – Khmelnytskyi. Since childhood, I showed an interest in culture, sports and travel. I graduated from music school in the specialty of piano, folk singing, vocals. I often participated in concerts and all-Ukrainian competitions during her studies. I also graduated from art school, many of my drawings remained in the school’s fund, many of which received prizes in competitions.

I’m also practiced dancing, swimming and cycling.

Now I live and study in Kyiv. I take an active part in the life of the academy. I participate in exhibitions and international competitions. I am engaged in icon painting, photography.

During this time, I visited the following countries: Poland, Ireland, Romania, Italy, Vatican.

The soil / the need

Since childhood, my parents gave me freedom of self-expression. All the walls of my room were painted, later when I grew up my parents enrolled me in art school.

Tell us about that first spark

In art history classes, where they talked about ancient art, I was also very fascinated by it, so I read a lot of different books and watched a lot of films about the culture of ancient Rome and Greece. I was impressed by the art of the Baroque period and all the symbolism and greatness of that era.

I realized that through art you can show your inner state and emotions, talk about problems and ridicule the problems of society to change them for the better.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

It was my art school, my teacher and my parents who still believe in me. Friends who have always congratulated me on Artist’s Day.

On days when it’s hard for me and I lose faith in myself, I always remember their words and I immediately feel better.

Also now for me is a very important environment at the Academy of Arts, where I am honed by like-minded people, people who understand me, with whom I can talk about art more deeply.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

Faith in my great destiny, faith of my loved ones in me.

Branches (future / desire)

I want to create something truly beautiful. I believe that I can help other people understand themselves at one point or another in their lives, and let them know that they are not alone.

Something strong and big. Probably a baobab.
