Hi, I’m Katrusya, and I’m from Ukraine. I’m very much in love with my country and its culture, opportunities, and I see a happy future without war. That’s why I’m studying to be an actor and I have a dream to popularize my culture. Besides theater, I also go to retreats and psychological reflections, I do it and work on my body. War has a great impact on psychology, so theater is a way not only to relax, but also to rethink my existence. It was thanks to theater that I didn’t give up after losing my brother in the war, and I strive to continue to popularize Ukraine.

The soil / the need

I got close to theater through homework from music school, when I had to listen to an opera, I realized that this is mine and I should devote my whole life to it. I love plays and seeing the director’s perspective on this action on stage.

Tell us about that first spark

I felt a spark between me and the theater when I saw how the icons of Ukrainian theater express art on stage and realized that I wanted to have the same superpower.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

One of the driving forces of theatre for me personally is the events that happened before, your emotional state and how you feel. the people around you influence your perception of life, the place also either gives or takes away your strength, so it is important to have a place to recover.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

Dramaturgy, people, music and the belief that I am doing this for a reason, the eyes of people who thank me for what I have recreated.

Branches (future / desire)

Since I am studying to be an actor, theater is an integral part of my life, my greatest desire is for the whole world to learn about the diversity of Ukrainian culture and I want to show it to the whole world. The role of theater is very important, because it influences the formation of a person as a personality and raises important issues of humanity.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

I would be the Carpathian forest and combine all the beauty of the forest. And if separately, it would be an oak, because it is powerful and has strong roots. I’ll show u pictures that I shoot in Ukraine
