Cherry of New Beginnings

Hi! I’m 16 and from Ukraine. I’m a curious person who loves discovering new things and meeting people from different cultures. My favorite character is the 12th Doctor from Doctor Who. I’m joining this adventure to see the world, practice my English, and simply unwind. I’m reliable, open-minded, and very excited for the journey on Giglio Island.

The soil / the need

I was looking for a way to laugh, feel different emotions through characters, and spend my time in an interesting way. Beyond entertainment, I also wanted emotional and spiritual growth by connecting with stories deeper than everyday life.

Tell us about that first spark

My first spark was realizing that live performance has a unique energy that no screen can replicate. I watched a performance where the laughter and sorrow felt so real that I forgot I was only observing.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

I’m quite new to theatre. A key moment was when my history teacher took our class to a play — it was exciting to see stories come alive in person. Mostly, my roots are curiosity and a desire to understand how people in other countries live.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

Culture helps me see the world and meet new people. It gives me a reason to travel, explore beyond daily routine, practice English, and understand different perspectives while having fun.

Branches (future / desire)

I would like theatre and culture to continue helping me explore the world, connect with others, and grow through new experiences.

Are you currently involved in cultural activities?

Not at the moment, but I would like to be more.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

A cherry tree. It blooms in spring — my birthday season — and represents beauty and fresh starts. I feel connected to that time when nature wakes up and grows again.
