Fir Tree

I am passionate about theatre, storytelling, and creative collaboration. I also enjoy learning languages, especially English and Chinese, which helps me connect with people from different cultures. I like exploring different forms of art and expressing myself through performance, writing, and discussion. I am curious, open-minded, and eager to meet like-minded peers, share experiences, and grow together in our artistic journeys.

The soil / the need

For the first time, I learned about theatre when I was still in middle school. I loved performing everywhere and reciting poems. I have been doing this since childhood, and you could say that it is my calling. I would love to go to theatre classes and act in performances, but unfortunately I lived outside the city and did not have the opportunity to attend any clubs. My parents only drove me to school and back. So I tried to perform at different events at my school.

Tell us about that first spark

I loved literature classes at school, and I watched some theatre performances on my phone, but I went to the theatre for the first time when I was 15. My friend and I bought the tickets with our own money and went to see a performance. I really enjoyed it. The actors managed to awaken sincere emotions in me — it was incredible.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

The people who always believed in me the most were my Ukrainian language and literature teachers. They promoted my candidacy for various events, and I could have even hosted my graduation ceremony if it hadn’t been for the war. Unfortunately, the mayor of the city prohibited holding celebratory events, and honestly, it truly wasn’t a time for celebration.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

What keeps me connected to theatre is the feeling I experience every time I perform or watch a play. Theatre allows me to express emotions that are sometimes difficult to explain in real life. It gives me the opportunity to be sincere, vulnerable, and strong at the same time. Even when I did not have the chance to attend theatre clubs, I kept participating in school events and looking for opportunities to perform. The support of my teachers and the emotions I felt during my first theatre performance made me realize that this is not just a hobby, but something truly meaningful to me. Theatre inspires me, challenges me, and helps me grow as a person.

Branches (future / desire)

Now I finally study in a big city at university, and I have joined the cultural department of my university. Although no events have been organized yet, I am very motivated and ready to participate. For me, this is a new beginning and an opportunity to finally develop my passion in a more serious way.

I imagine theatre being part of my future as a space where I can grow, gain experience, and become more confident. I hope that in the coming years it will give me real stage practice, teamwork experience, and the courage to express myself freely. I want theatre to help me turn my long-standing passion into real skills and meaningful achievements.aine, because words are weapons.

Are you currently involved in cultural activities?

Not at the moment, but I would like to be more.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

If I were a tree, I would be a fir tree. A fir tree stays green even in winter, when everything around it seems cold and lifeless. I would like to be like that — someone who keeps warmth, hope, and strength even during difficult times.

A fir tree is resilient and does not lose its color with the changing seasons. I see myself as a person who continues to grow despite challenges and who tries to remain strong and positive. At the same time, a fir tree is often associated with comfort and celebration, and I hope I can bring light, inspiration, and sincere emotions to others through theatre.
