🇪🇺 TEEN European Digital Community: Italian Cypress from Chisinău, Moldova

Moldova

Italian Cypress

I am a dancer from Odesa with a deep passion for the arts. I am also strongly interested in architectural drawing, one of my main creative pursuits, and in literature, which helps me immerse myself in atmospheres and develop critical thinking. I am determined, highly organized, and I value structure and order. Through projects and volunteer initiatives, I have strengthened my ability to communicate with people from different cultural backgrounds and contribute meaningfully to shared experiences.

The soil / the need

When I first got closer to theatre, I felt a deeper involvement and genuine curiosity. As a dancer, I was already familiar with the stage, and I truly admired people who performed there. They created an amazing atmosphere and conveyed emotions through movement and music.

The first seed

A parent / family.

Tell us about that first spark

Yes, I clearly remember it. In Odesa, the National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre immediately captivated me — especially its golden interior, velvet seats, and chandeliers. Since early childhood, that space drew me in. The performances left me with beautiful emotions that stayed with me for a long time. Ballet looked so weightless and effortless on stage, while I also understood how much training and discipline it takes to reach that level.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

The strongest influence on my theatre journey has been dance. It shaped how I perceive the stage and taught me to see it as a space where emotion and meaning come together. Step by step, dance helped me stop being afraid of expressing a story through movement. It gave me confidence, discipline, and the ability to communicate without words.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

For me, it is always about the person. The strongest reason I stay connected to theatre is my trainer, who constantly encourages me to move forward and never give up.

Branches (future / desire)

I believe theatre can influence me positively at any age. As we grow, our perception of the world changes, and theatre can reveal deeper meanings in stories and situations. In the coming years, I hope it helps me understand narratives more thoughtfully, look beyond the surface, and connect with emotions in a more mature and conscious way.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

An Italian cypress — precise, structured, elegant, and distinctive. Its clear shape reflects the qualities I value in myself: order, discipline, resilience, and a sense of individuality.
