Ivy Toward the Light
Hi! I’m Margarita. I love discovering new things, meeting creative people, and exploring different perspectives. I get excited by stories, ideas, and experiences that make me think or feel something new. I’m curious, open-minded, and always happy to meet people to share passions with, try fun things together, or simply have a good conversation.
The soil / the need
I first got closer to theatre when I was 7, when my school teacher took me to the local drama club. It was something completely new and interesting, and I spent four years there — I still miss it. Later, around 13, I became interested in theatre more consciously, as a way to release emotions and show their full range. I was looking for a place where feelings could be loud, strange, and real — and where I could be someone without fear.
The first seed
A teacher / school.
Tell us about that first spark
The first spark happened during rehearsal. I was practicing a small role and didn’t expect anyone to notice me, but the director asked me to perform it in front of the whole class. My hands were shaking and my voice almost failed, but when I finished, everyone clapped. I had never felt such a mix of fear, excitement, and pride. That moment showed me how powerful theatre can be.
Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)
One of the most important people in my journey has been my teacher. She noticed a spark in me — curiosity and sensitivity — before I recognized it myself. She encouraged me, believed in my potential, and invited me into the school drama club. That small act opened the door to theatre, a creative community, and my own voice on stage.
The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)
What keeps me in theatre is the way it makes me feel alive and connected. Every rehearsal, performance, and story helps me explore emotions, understand people, and express myself in ways words alone cannot. Theatre challenges me, excites me, and gives me a sense of belonging.
Branches (future / desire)
I imagine theatre continuing to be central in my life. I hope it gives me opportunities to grow as a performer and storyteller, and I dream of becoming an actress. In the coming years, I want theatre to challenge me and help me express myself in ways I’ve never imagined, turning creativity into something meaningful for both me and the audience.
If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?
I would be ivy. I don’t grow straight or predictably — I twist, climb, and find my path wherever there is space. I can hold on, reach higher, and intertwine with what surrounds me. Theatre is like sunlight for me: it helps me stretch, explore, and grow.
