Palm of Recognition
I am Kristina Rybak, and I have been drawn to the arts since childhood. I practiced dance from an early age and now devote myself to figure skating. Music is also central in my life: I am a First Prize laureate in flute performance and I also play the piano. Reading is one of my passions, and I have built a mini-library of over 150 books. I studied at a German Gymnasium in Bavaria and now study English Philology at a German university while improving my German. I am organized, disciplined, and used to adapting to new environments and taking responsibility.
The soil / the need
I wanted to overcome my fear of being looked at — to find a space where I could show myself and receive recognition.
The first seed
A performance you watched.
Tell us about that first spark
The first thing that drew me to theatre was the experience of receiving everyone’s attention. When I stepped on stage for the first time and performed in a play, I had never felt such absolute happiness afterwards.
Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)
My performances from the age of seven were never attended by my family or friends. At first, I would leave the stage in tears when I saw other children greeted by their parents. But over time, I realized I had become stronger: I was performing not only for people I knew, but for everyone who was listening. That realization shaped my resilience and my relationship to the audience.
The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)
The feeling that I could achieve even more if I kept going.
Branches (future / desire)
I hope to continue performing and reaching new milestones that make me stronger and better.
If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?
A palm tree — flexible and adaptable in any environment, whether it is a new school, team, or setting. I also love that palms exist in many countries, yet remain unique in each place.
