Peach Tree

Hi! My name’s Victoria, I’m an 18-year-old girl from Kyiv. I love art, people and talking to someone who shares the same interests 🙂 I study philology at university and work as an English teacher. I’m currently learning German, so I’m always open to practice sessions! I can teach you Ukrainian in return 🤝
I enjoy drawing, working with clay, and experimenting with new creative formats. I’m into cinematography (let’s add each other on Letterboxd!) and literature.
I’m open, curious, chaotic, sometimes funny (hope so)) + totally cool and friendly. I am very ready to connect with other great people! Let’s see where the wind takes us

The soil / the need

I was looking for a way to connect with people beyond words and to find the way to share my emotions. For me, it is a space where emotions, body, movement and presence matter as much as language! My education in university is focused on language, teaching and communication, but through my work with children and teenagers I realized that words are not always enough. Many young people express themselves more easily through action, that’s why I became interested in performative practices

Tell us about that first spark

I once watched a theatre performance based on «Украдене щастя» by Ivan Franko. What impressed me the most was the sensitivity of the actors, their feelings, movements and the way emotions were shown through the body. I felt deeply involved even without focusing on every word. After that, I started paying much more attention to theatre. I also watched many theatre performances and short scenes on social media, and they always inspired me with how much can be said without words

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

So far, my path in theatre has been shaped mainly by experiences rather than specific people. My background in language studies and teaching helped me understand communication, while working with children showed me how important non-verbal expression is. Watching theatre performances, both live and online, helped me realize how powerful theatre can be as a tool for connection

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

The feeling of real presence and honesty, theatre allows me to be fully involved, it creates a safe space where emotions can be explored and shared openly.

Branches (future / desire)

I would like to use performative practices while working with teenagers, helping them express emotions, reflect on themselves and connect with others. I hope theatre will give me more confidence in working with groups, more tools for non-verbal communication and a deeper understanding of how art can support young people.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

If I were a tree, I would be a peach tree! It is soft but strong, and it needs care, time, and the right environment to grow. I see myself the same way as I’m still learning, still developing, but open and sensitive to what is happening around me. I like sharing warmth and emotions with others, and I believe creativity grows best when there is trust and connection. I hope one day I’ll bloom as beautifully and softly as a peach tree
