Reflective Willow

I am a law student at Uzhhorod National University with a passion for creativity, personal growth, and social engagement. I first discovered theatre in school, where participating in performances helped me build confidence, express emotions, and explore new perspectives. While I’m not actively performing now, theatre remains an important way for me to connect with myself and others. I am adaptable, independent, and curious, and I enjoy combining creativity with critical thinking, humor, and observation to better understand the world around me.

The soil / the need

I first got into theatre back in school, where I often took part in performances and scenes. I’m not actively involved now, but theatre still remains a way for me to express inner feelings. Through roles, I can experience and understand another person’s life, which helps me connect more deeply with both myself and others.

The first seed

A teacher / school.

Tell us about that first spark

I remember performing in a school play where I had to step into a character very different from myself. In that moment, I felt the power of theatre — how it can make you experience someone else’s emotions and perspective. It made me realize that theatre is more than acting; it is a way to explore feelings and understand people deeply.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

My theatre journey began in school through performances and small stage scenes. Teachers who encouraged me and classmates who shared the stage with me were very important. These experiences gave me confidence, curiosity, and a love for expressing emotions and stories through performance.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

What keeps me connected to theatre is its ability to express inner feelings and connect with others. Even though I’m not actively performing now, I still see theatre as a space for empathy, reflection, and human understanding — something I find invaluable.

Branches (future / desire)

I’m not sure whether I will continue developing specifically in theatre, but I know that during my school years it had a very positive impact on my confidence. It helped me express myself, try new things, and connect with others — and I carry those lessons with me even now.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

A willow. Willows are flexible and adaptable, bending with the wind but not breaking. I feel this reflects my personality: I value freedom, curiosity, and deep reflection. Willows quietly observe the world, much like I enjoy exploring philosophical ideas and different perspectives. They also carry a calm strength that connects to my resilience, humor, and way of moving through life.
