🇪🇺 TEEN European Digital Community: Sakura of Human Rights and Hope from Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine
Ukraine
Sakura of Human Rights and Hope
I’m a law student from Ukraine who spent four years playing piano. I’ve participated in Erasmus projects and volunteered a lot, so I know how to get things done. I like technology, music, and meeting new people. I believe that even in difficult times, we should stay creative and support one another. I’m here to learn, share my story, and make new friends across Europe.
The soil / the need
I was looking for a way to express emotions that words couldn’t capture. Living through uncertain times, I needed a safe space where complex feelings could be transformed into something beautiful and shared.
The first seed
A performance you watched.
Tell us about that first spark
It happened during my Erasmus project. I saw how a simple performance helped people from different countries understand each other without long speeches. That was the moment I realized art works in real life.
Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)
My piano classes gave me discipline, and my Erasmus mentors showed me that art can change a community. These people and experiences shaped who I am today.
The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)
A sense of belonging. In a group, you feel part of something bigger. The energy and team support are what keep me going.
Branches (future / desire)
I want to combine my law studies with art. I hope theatre helps me explain human rights to other teenagers in a way that feels engaging and understandable.
If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?
A sakura — a symbol of hope and new beginnings. Its blooming is short but powerful, reminding me to value each moment and keep flourishing after difficult seasons.
