Willow of Shared Roots

Hi! I am Tetiana, 16, from Ukraine. I have been passionate about theatre since childhood, and that passion has shaped who I am today. I have organized theatre workshops in my school to share my experience with others. I am also interested in international relations, learning languages, and playing chess. I have long-term plans in theatre and in creating more opportunities for peer learning and exchange, both online and offline.

The soil / the need

I was looking for authenticity within myself — a space where I could be vulnerable, scream, love, or grieve at full strength without judgment.

The first seed

Myself.

Tell us about that first spark

Yes. During one of my first rehearsals, my partners said something simple but fundamental: “We are a team. And until we become one, we will not succeed.” That was the moment I understood theatre is not about solo performance, but about shared roots — like a forest ecosystem.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

My theatre teacher Maksym shaped my path and made the experience full of fun and knowledge. He helped me adapt at the beginning and open up, and he continues to support me on my journey.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

My love for theatre, my passion, and my partners — the people with whom I build something meaningful.

Branches (future / desire)

Theatre is already inseparable from my identity. I believe it will remain part of my creative journey and future career. Maybe one day I will establish my own theatre school or an exchange program.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

A willow. It bends in strong wind but does not break — like an actor adapting to many roles. A willow can also grow from a small twig, which feels like a symbol of creating something new.
