🇪🇺 TEEN European Digital Community: Willow of Youth Empowerment from Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine

Willow of Youth Empowerment

I am a creative and socially engaged young person passionate about theatre, culture, and youth empowerment. I believe theatre is a powerful tool for dialogue, empathy, and social change. I value teamwork, authenticity, and responsibility in every creative process. Through artistic activities, photography, and youth initiatives, I aim to inspire teenagers to become active participants in cultural life. I am open-minded, proactive, and adaptable, with strong communication skills and a desire to keep growing. I see culture as something alive — shaped by young voices, collaboration, and courage.

The soil / the need

When I first got closer to theatre, I was looking for a space where emotions could exist freely. I wanted something real — a place where I could express feelings without fear of judgment. I was also curious about how stories are built and how people transform into different characters on stage. I needed expression, creativity, and deeper connection.

The first seed

A parent / family.

Tell us about that first spark

Yes, I clearly remember it. During one rehearsal, I realized that a simple scene could completely change the atmosphere in the room. I saw how people reacted emotionally — listening, feeling, connecting. That moment showed me theatre is not just performance, but influence and responsibility.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

My journey has been shaped by inspiring mentors who encouraged authenticity and by peers who trusted me on stage. Rehearsals taught me discipline and teamwork, performances taught me courage, and mistakes taught me resilience. Every shared process strengthened my belief that theatre builds not only actors, but empathetic people.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

Growth. Each project pushes me beyond my comfort zone and teaches me something new about voice, presence, collaboration, and leadership. Theatre keeps me curious and motivated.

Branches (future / desire)

I see theatre as a space for empowerment and youth engagement. I want it to help me develop leadership, confidence, and the ability to inspire others. I hope to work internationally, exchange perspectives, and contribute to cultural dialogue among young people — using theatre not only for self-expression, but as a bridge between communities.

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

A willow. A willow may look soft and flexible, but it is deeply rooted and resilient. It bends with the wind instead of breaking. I relate to that balance: emotional yet strong, sensitive yet determined. For me, true strength lies in flexibility, empathy, and authenticity.
