Willow Tree

I live in Belgrade, Serbia and i’m applying to college this year – Faculty of Dramatic Arts: Management in Culture and Media and Theatre Production.
In my free time, you’ll find me volunteering in theater, reading, watching movies and TV shows or hanging out with my friends and family.
My goal? Theater production. I want to be the one behind the magic, moving from the audience to the making of the plays. I’m dreaming of European projects and a lifetime connected to the stage. Currently, I’m trying to balance career ambitions with enough free time to travel, see the world and spend enough time with my loved ones.

The soil / the need

I was curious. I was also looking for a new form of art to add to my life. I was very interested in everything that theatre had to offer.

The first seed

A teacher / school.

Tell us about that first spark

It was about 3 years ago, when i watched a play called “Son” in Atelje212, which is a theatre in Belgrade. It sparked something very special in me, because I have never felt so shaken after any kind of art. I came out of the theatre and my breath was shaking. Because the play was so realistic, that I almost felt like the depressed son that the play was about. After that experience, I knew that theater must become a part of my everyday life.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

Most important is my highschool teacher who introduced me to theatre and its magic. Also all the theatres in Belgrade that have a lot to offer.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

Always looking for new plays that will change my view on some situations, people, emotions or life in general. Or maybe make me understand our human soul in a new way. And also for a good laugh or an interesting performance.

Branches (future / desire)

I hope that I will get a chance to work in theatre production and in that way stay connected to it for life. And with that, to get a chance to also participate in the making of different plays and performances.

Yes, regularly

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

I would be a willow tree. Because it’s green almost all year. And also it’s a very elegant tree that grows by the river mostly, so it always has a beautiful view.
