Willow Tree

My name is Kateryna and I’m from Ukraine. I’m 20 years old and currently studying at the last year of university. My major is French and English languages and literatures so I really love learning languages and reading. One of my other hobbies are crocheting and cross-stitching but right now I can’t do it often. Though I’m not a very sportive person, I’ve tried a lot of different sports and different kinds of dances. Also I love animals (especially cats:))
I’m an artistic person, I draw, recite poems, visit art museums and go to the theatre when I can. It’s a big part of my life and I hope to be always connected to it

The soil / the need

When I first got closer to the theatre, I was just a kid and it was pure curiosity as I loved the scene and thought that there’s always something magical happening there

I don’t really remember, it got in my life rather slowly but now it takes an important place.

Roots (people & experiences that shaped your path)

Definitely places, as I love travelling, I also enjoy to explore how theatre is in different countries, different places, it’s never the same.

The trunk (what keeps you in theatre)

Probably because I’m an artistic kid and theatre has always been pretty close to my life, no matter what; also theatre and drama are one of the subjects I have at university.

Branches (future / desire)

I imagine it could become more than just a hobby but I still don’t know what I really want to do after finishing university. But I feel like theatre is one of the things I could do forever.

Are you currently involved in cultural activities?

Not at the moment, but I would like to be more

If you were a tree, what kind of tree would you be? Why?

A willow. I really like how it looks and it’s one of the oldest and sacred symbols of Ukraine so I feel very connected to it.
