Project description
Alingawngaw at Kahidlaw is a student-led theater initiative where senior high school students create original performances reflecting on diverse aspects of Filipino life and culture. Productions address social issues such as hunger, poverty, toxic masculinity, and beauty standards. The process emphasizes artistic experimentation, critical reflection, and collaboration, preparing teenagers to become the next generation of Filipino artists. Each production resonates with the overarching themes of reverberation (“Alingawngaw”) and longing (“Kahidlaw”), exploring personal and collective experiences through theater.
