The role of the young people in this project is one of total curatorship and management. They are responsible for:
Curating and producing the event in all its aspects, from graphic design to social media communication.
Choosing the themes and plays to be explored.
Selecting the adults (artists, educators, and producers) who will be invited to lead workshops and participate in discussions.
Project Description
The “Muvuca for Youth” project is named after a reforestation technique that involves planting different seeds together to effectively regenerate the soil. In the same way, the project brings together young people aged 13 to 19 from diverse neighborhoods, organizations, schools, and artistic backgrounds for a three-day event.
The goal is to reflect on and discuss theater for and with teenagers, through workshops, play readings, and plenty of time for getting to know each other. The core idea is that the young people are involved in every phase of the project, from conception to execution, making them the true protagonists.
Unique Project Feature
The uniqueness of “Muvuca for Youth” lies in its inversion of roles: the young people become the curators and leaders of the project, while the adults take on the role of advisors and guests. This tested approach ensures that the decisions and activities are truly guided by what is relevant to the young people, valuing their ideas and work.
