Peculiarity
This project is an example of Mixed Participation, where young people were involved in every stage, from creation to implementation. Starting with complex social issues like fighting hate speech, they developed an original piece that combines music, theatre, and political themes. The approach is based on a shared leadership model, where professionals supported the teens but always made space for them to lead the creative process.
Project description
Sternwandrer is a music theatre piece entirely created by the members of a youth choir. Ten teenagers, aged 12 to 17, joined a writing workshop to explore the question: “What would a better world look like?” Inspired by political debates and the #gegenHassundHetze movement, they created a play that tackles social division, responsibility, and solidarity. The project concluded with three public performances in May 2025, demonstrating the power of youth creativity when they are given full responsibility and trust.
